My Story

Why do I make edibles?

I was born with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I didn’t find out until I was 38. My pain started at 14 and I haven’t had a day without it since. By the time I was 40, I was taking 60 mg of Morphine every day and still in so much pain that I walked with a cane or walker or couldn’t get out of bed at all.

When I had my 41st birthday, I stepped back and really took a hard look at my life. I could not continue on the path I was headed. I researched opioids and long term use and realized that it was not the answer. I quit cold turkey the month after my birthday. I detoxed. I lived. And I started to feel better. I started to look for a doctor that wouldn’t force them back on me and offered other answers.

When I was 42, I found the most amazing doctor that ever walked this earth. She knew my condition and actually listened to me. It was a long couple years and a lot of visits to get me better and we figured out what worked for me. She encouraged me to stay off of opioids and told me to try THC for my joint pain.

I got an opportunity to visit Colorado when I was 45. I visited a dispensary. I asked a lot of questions, I tried a lot of different things. I found what worked for me. I also found that when I talked to others, they used edibles for so many different health ailments. I started researching how to save money by making my own. I watched 100s of videos and read through just as many articles. I started making my own cookies that same year.

I’m now almost 51. For the last 6 years, I have perfected my recipe and made tons of friends along the way. I haven’t concentrated on profiting money, but rather just made them for myself and a few extra for friends. I bring cookies with me everywhere. I give one to anyone who wants one. I spread cheer.

Some day I hope to run a successful bakery and spread my cheer a little farther. For now, this is a placeholder.
